For most of us, life’s biggest shifts don’t always come with a loud bang. Sometimes, it’s a knock on the door, a school uniform gifted just in time, or the simple warmth of someone who remembers your name.
At Grace & Mary Little Strides Foundation, we believe that hope is found in the quiet moments — when someone shows up, simply because they care.
This is what we do. And this is why we do it.
Ruth’s Story: “I Thought It Was Over For Me”
At just 13 years old, Ruth had already accepted that she might never return to school. Her mother had passed. Her father struggled daily. And even her teachers had stopped calling her name.
“I used to walk past my school and just stare through the gates,” she says.
“Then someone from the Grace & Mary Foundation came to our house.”
Through one of our education sponsorship programs, Ruth not only received school fees and supplies — she got her identity back. Now, she’s not just learning — she’s dreaming. She wants to become a nurse.
“They didn’t just pay for my books. They reminded me that I still matter.”
Mr. Joseph: “They Didn’t Forget Me”
In his younger years, Mr. Joseph was a respected teacher and church elder. Today, many of his peers have passed, and his children live far away. Loneliness crept in like a shadow.
But once a month, a team from Grace & Mary visits him. They bring food. They share prayers. They listen to his stories — stories he thought no one cared about anymore.
“It’s not about what they bring,” he says with a soft smile.
“It’s that they come. They remember.”
Our Mission in Every Visit
